Inadvertant IMC Course
 

Attention:

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has implemented new procedures for flight training conducted by a US flight training provider beginning October 20, 2004. Please visit the Enrollment page for mandatory procedures required by the TSA prior to beginning ANY flight training.

All courses require a $150 enrollment fee *(Fuel Surcharges may be in effect)

Course Overview:

Ground Training: Successful completion of the course will enable the qualified helicopter pilot with minimal knowledge of the IFR system, aircraft systems and components related to IFR, regulations and procedures of IFR flight, the ability to operate a helicopter in safe manner in the event of an Inadvertant IMC encounter.

Flight Training: To offer the qualified helicopter pilot the experience to safely maneuver his/her helicopter in the event of an Inadvertant IMC encounter.

* This course is designed specifically for helicopter pilots possessing current FAA certificates with helicopter ratings or the equivalent licenses issued by a foreign regulatory agency.

Course Content:

Classroom presentations will cover the cockpit controls and instrumentation, and Weather Reports and Forecasts. In addition, a comprehensive review of Crew Resource Management.

The flight procedures training includes an introduction to the instrumentation related to IFR flight, practice in the VMC to IMC transition, both day and night in the FAA Approved FlyIt Helicopter simulator.

Flight Training Time: 2 Hours
Ground Training Time: 4 Hours
